You require a British Fencing compete licence at the relevant age group.

U13 and U11 events count towards the England Fencing U14 and U12 rankings with an extra factor of 1.2. The multiiplier is therefore 120 for each event in the ranking system.

Equipment

Blade size

U11 and U13 fencers at Foil must use size 3 blades or smaller.

U11 and U13 fencers at Epee and Sabre must use size 2 blades or smaller.

U15 fencers at all weapons can use size 5 blades or smaller.

Foil masks

Conductive masks required for U15 foil.

This is optional for U11 and U13.

Rules

All poule matches are fenced to 5 hits or 3 minutes.

For foil and epee, Direct Elimination fights to 15 hits (U15) have 3 periods of 3 minutes and Direct Elimination fight to 10 hits (U11 & U13) have 3 periods of 2 minutes.

For sabre, Direct Elimination fights to 15 hits have a 1 minute break when one fencer reaches 8 hits. for fights to 10 hits (U11 & U13) the one minute break is when one fencer reaches 5 hits.

All fencing matches use full size pistes.
